Who am I ?
My name is Frank Taillandier, i'm a 37 french guy, living in Toulouse spending too much time behind his computer. I have a real passion for the web, and I strongly believe that when it comes to publishing on the WWW, we should rely on W3C standards. I'm currently working for a public administration, where I spread the word about managing web content, writing for the web, following web standards and improving accessibility. Every year I go to the best french best conference Paris Web.
Here's the presentation I gave this year during the workshops, with Sébastien Pauchet, Automne CMS lead developer. The aim was to make people aware about common security flaws on web applications : SQL injections, cross-site scripting (XSS), cross-site request forgery (CSRF) and remote file inclusion (RFI) as well as best security pratices based on the OWASP Top ten 2007 (a must read if you're a backend-developer).
Free time
When I'm not in front of my MacBook Pro, I might be taking some shots with my camera - a Nikon D80. I also enjoy reading comic books since childhood. I guess I'm a geek. I enjoy eating vegetarian food. I don't eat no more meat since a few years. I plan to be a true vegan one day. Respect your planet.
Please, don't hurt the web
I'm following the evolution of some of the web standards like HTML5, CSS3 and DOM. These tools allows you to separate structure, style and behavior. They should be the essentials components of every well-formed website in order to ease your maintenance and improve your SEO, performance and accessibility, i.e ensuring your content is accessible to everyone, no matter what device or software they use.

Why do maintain a website who will only link to better websites and articles on the standards topic ? They're plenty of good technical resources on the web. Even here in France, the standards community is very active : either by translating best experts articles or by promoting web standards and accessibility.
Automne, Enterprise Content Management
At work, I use on a daily basis a CMS called Automne. It's open-source and LAMP powered. Version 4 is about to be release. Automne has been entirely rewritten in PHP5 an the new graphical interface is whole based upon the ExtJS library. I suggeest you to try the demo and give us feedback on the application.
Here are some of the useful features I like :
- the new Automne 4 AJAX interface based on ExtJS components,
- Powerful XML template language combined to an application generator -codename Polymod- that allows you to develop dynamic applications without the need for PHP coding. Of coure you can mix the XML templates with PHP to enhance your applications
- Precise user rights management based on RBAC
- Validation workflow, multi-site, LDAP support, HTTPS and SSO support
You can download Automne from sourceforge.net. You better have some skills in XHTML and CSS and PHP in order to build the templates. You can ask any questions on the forum.
Music
Andrew Richards, my fellow english mate, has released his first album with his last musical projet called Uniform motion. He recently was joined by the talented graphic designer Reuno and Trevor. I invite you to listen and watch to their songs on Uniform Motion Pictures. Of course they have also a MySpace profile
